NAMCO Kicks Back with Data Warehousing

Top of the Net, 07/17/06

On a steamy summer day when the humidity reaches its limits and the moisture underneath one's clothing feels more like a swamp, people just want to get in the pool and feel relaxed. They don't want to think. They don't want to worry about the chlorine tablets and ph levels. All they want to do is play a quality game of Marco Polo.

In contrast, pool supplies retailer NAMCO will always be on its toes when it comes to rationally thinking out business decisions and selling pool-related products. However, that doesn't mean that NAMCO never wants to make things a little easier for itself. The merchant has selected a QuantiSense retail business intelligence and data warehousing application to help keep track of inventory and overall corporate performance.

Recognizing enormous potential opportunity for selling more accessories and supplies, in addition to the complete pools it provides, NAMCO will be able to use new data to better stock stores and address customer needs. Aided by enhanced business intelligence capabilities, NAMCO will be able to produce better numbers for various store managers to use when addressing individual store performance. Specifically, NAMCO will take advantage of technological capabilities such as role-based dashboards and interactive reports, playbook scenarios for best practices, and end-to-end data validation.

As NAMCO grows and opens new stores while broadening its merchandising assortment, it will have a much easier time staying organized and seeing what works best going forward. This will be particularly true regarding infrastructure and store operations.

So when customers come into NAMCO stores with visions of games of freeze tag and "shark attack" that will be taking place their backyard, NAMCO will be better prepared to provide the flotation device for "King of the Raft."
